Mueller, August (12 Jan. 1873 - 3 Oct. 1942)

Funeral services for August Mueller, 69, who died at his home in Colby, Saturday morning, after a year’s illness with diabetes, were held Wednesday afternoon, at 2:00 o’clock at the Lulloff Funeral Home. The Rev. David Grether, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church, officiated and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mr. Mueller was born in Sheboygan, Jan. 12, 1873, and moved with his parents to a farm in the Town of Colby in 1877. He was married in Wausau to Ida Beyer on April 6th, 1904. They lived on different farms in the Towns Colby and Hull until 1910 when they moved to a farm in Pulpo, Mich.

In 1912 they moved to Dorchester, where they managed the Star hotel for two years and then for a year, the hotel at Curtiss. After operating a tavern at Thorp and Stetsonville, they came to Abbotsford in 1917 and for two years they had a tavern, which since burned down, in South Abbotsford, Wis.

Since 1919 he was the proprietor of the Mueller restaurant in Colby where he lived until his death, Saturday.

He is survived by his widow and two sons, Walter, at home, and Pvt. Lawrence of Brick Barracks, Fort Crook, Neb. Pvt. Mueller is home on furlough at this time.
