Gibson, Tom H. (1867 - 23 Dec. 1941)

Friday afternoon is the date set for the funeral services of Tom H. Gibson who died at his home, Tuesday morning. The body will lie in state at the Zink Funeral Home until one o’clock on Friday when services will be held there. They will be followed by services at 1:30 at the Presbyterian Church and internment will be made in Yolo cemetery, Town of Fremont. The Rev. George Griffiths will be the officiating minister.

Born in England, Mr. Gibson came to America in 1891. In 1898 he was united in marriage to Miss Lottie Waterman in the town of Fremont.

His trade was that of barber which he practiced in Chili until 22 years ago when the family moved to Abbotsford, Wis. Here he operated his barber shop until about a year ago when he retired on account of ill health. He died of a stomach ailment at 11:45 a.m., Tuesday.

He is survived by his widow and three sons: Floyd and Roy of Milwaukee and Rene of Eau Claire. There are also three grandchildren; Dolores, daughter of Roy, and Dorothy and Dennis, children of Rene.

Funeral services for Tom H. Gibson who died at his home at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, were held Friday afternoon at the Zink Funeral Home at one o’clock and at the Presbyterian Church at 1:30.

Burial was made in the Yolo Cemetery, Town of Fremont and the Rev. George Griffiths officiated.

The pallbearers were: Martin Anderson, Fred Buss, Leo Banditt, C. H. Schaefer, John Hutt and Gustave Buetsch.

The floral offerings were carried by five members of the Order of Eastern Star: Mrs. Martin Anderson, Mrs. Charles Hoffman, Mrs. R. H. Treat, Mrs. Joseph Konecny and Mrs. L. K. Neitzel.

Among those from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Rene Gibson and daughter, Dorothy, and son, Dennis, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gibson and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gibson, and daughter Delores, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ewert, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Buetsch, Mrs. Alfred Jacobson and son, Alvin, Ebbe; Mr. and Mrs. George Fulmer, Athens.
