Lehmann, June Marie (Marriage - 1 September 1951)

The Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Granton was the setting of the wedding of Miss June Marie Lehmann, 317 W. Sixth Street St. Paul, Minn., to Mortimer Carleton Sheffloe of Crookston, Minn. The four o’clock double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Oswald before 100 guests.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lehmann of Granton and the groom a son of Mrs. Mortimer Sheffloe, Sr., of Crookston, Minn.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of white silk embroidered organdy, styled with a high neckline. It buttoned to the waist with tiny satin buttons. The long fitted sleeves terminated at the wrist with a small ruffle point over the hand. Her full skirt had deeply embroidered scallops at the ankle. Her finger tip veil fell from a tiara and she carried a bridal bouquet of white roses and stephanotis with trailing ivy. She wore white linen opera pumps decorated with rhinestones.

Gladys Lehmann acted as her sister’s maid of honor. She was attired in a toast colored silk organdy ballerina gown styled with a Basque waist, cap sleeves, and wide V neck. Her full skirt was gathered in a velvet ribbon belt. Her linen slippers matched her gown. She carried a bouquet of salmon colored roses, yellow single mums mixed with wheat and ivy. Mrs. Jerome Gaier of Marshfield and Cleo Hansen of St. Paul acted as bridesmaids. They were dressed in yellow silk organdy and brown silk organdy, respectively. Their gowns were fashioned like the maid of honor and they wore slippers to match their gowns. They carried bouquets of gladiolus, yellow single mums, wheat and ivy. They all wore choker pearls of shaded toast and brown.

The groom was attended by a friend, Don Verreaux, of Minneapolis, Harry Carney, a friend of Minneapolis, and James Lehmann, brother of the bride from Schenectady, N.Y. The men were all attired in black jackets and black and grey striped cuffless trousers.

Carole Lehmann, who was attired in orange organdy, identical to the bridesmaids, acted as junior bridesmaid.

The "Lord’s Prayer" was sung by Dick Harlin of Granton.

Following the wedding a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents for 100 guests. The home was tastefully decorated in green, brown and yellow with strawflowers and grain.

After a honeymoon trip through northern Wisconsin and Michigan the young couple will be at home in Minneapolis.

The bride was graduated from the Granton High School with the class of ’47 and from the Patricia Stevens Modeling School at St. Paul. She is now with the accounting department of the Minneapolis Mining and Manufacturing Co. of St. Paul.

The groom is a graduate of the Crookston High School and received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota. He is employed with the Bell Telephone Company of Minneapolis.
