Thompson, Raymond E. (26 Feb. 1904 - 11 May 1962)

Raymond E. Thompson of Abbotsford, Wisconsin, age 58, died Friday morning at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital of injuries suffered April 14 in a head-on automobile collision near Fond du Lac. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the village hall in Abbotsford, Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating, and internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery. Pall bearers were Norman Olson, Al Holtzhausen, Frank Brodhagen, David Bertz, Emil Dallenbach and Elden Viets.

Mr. Thompson was born on February 26, 1904, in St. Paul, Minn. He received his education in Neillsville and West Allis and married Laura Priebe in Milwaukee on July 23, 1927. After their marriage, they lived in Milwaukee until 1946 when they moved to Abbotsford where they owned and operated Ray’s Tavern. He was a director of the Abbotsford Sportsmen’s Club, a member of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce and the Abbotsford Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Harley of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Evonne) Miller of Macomb, Ill., and Mrs. Gloria Viets of Thorp; six grand children; a brother, Forrest Thompson, a sister, Mrs. Gerald Larson, both of Neillsville.
