Twait, Henry (15 JAN 1873 - 24 OCT 1949)

Final rites were conducted at two o’clock this afternoon from the Emanuel Lutheran Church at Longwood, with the Rev. T. M. Nelson officiating, for Henry Twait, who passed away at his home Monday morning, Oct. 24th, 1949. Pallbearers at the services were his six grandsons, Emery and Harold Sorenson, Harold and Orville Bingham and Orville Lenser. Flower girls were his granddaughters Gladys Sorenson, Rosella Bingham and Patricia and Edith Twait.

He slipped quietly from these earthly surroundings early Monday morning at his home where he had been since Friday afternoon, when he came home from the hospital where he had been treated for two weeks.

Henry Twait, aged 76 years, was born on Jan. 15, 1873, in Norway. While still residing in that county he met and was united in marriage to Anna Nielsen in Sept. of 1894. Upon coming to this country, he and his family settled in the Town of Longwood where he has resided these past 30 years, having established himself as a pioneer resident of the community and developing a fine and improved farm.

Surviving him and mourning his loss from the family circle are his wife Anne, five sons, Silas, Good Hope, Ill.; Fred and Elmer of Owen, and Nels and Olaf, who are at home; three daughters, Mrs. Emil (Martha) Sorenson, Owen, and Evelyn and Elizabeth who are at home, and 15 grandchildren.
