Leyk, Johanna (Marriage - 26 July 1941)

Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Lewis and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Lewis attended the wedding of Miss Johanna Leyk and George A. Lewis, of St. Cloud at Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.

The wedding took place in a candle light ceremony in Trinity Lutheran church at seven o’clock in the evening of July 26.

The bride’s dress of white velveray organdy, had a sweetheart neckline trimmed with orange blossoms. Made with a fitted bodice and long full sleeves and tiny self covered buttons down the back, the skirt extended in a long square train. Her finger tip veil was arranged with orange blossoms and she carried lilies.

Her maid of honor was gowned in blue marquisette with lace bodice, circular skirt and lace jacket. She wore a hair braid hat with net.

The four bridesmaids were gowned alike in yellow, orchid, blue and pink frosted organza made similar to the bride’s dress. They all wore gladioli in their hair and carried colonial bouquets. All of the attendants wore pearl necklaces, gifts from the bride.

The groom, who is the son of Stan Lewis of Abbotsford, was attended as best man by Alvin Rogers, Fergus Falls, a fraternity brother. The four ushers were relatives of the bride and friends of the couple.

A wedding dinner for 75 guests was served at the home of the bride’s parents after the ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis are taking a trip to southern California by way of Yellowstone Park and the Redwood Forest. They will be at home after August 10 in Los Angeles.

The groom is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and has been employed by Sears Roebuck in St. Cloud.
