Puro, Henry (19 May 1881 - 11 June 1951)

Funeral services for Henry Puro, 70, were held on Thursday afternoon from Bethany Lutheran Church in Owen. Burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery. He died on Monday, June 11, 1951 at his home in Owen.

Henry Puro was born in Lapinlahti, Finland, May 19, 1881. He came to the United States in 1908 and settled first in Ironwood, Mich. In 1910 he was married at Ironwood to Hannah Marin, who survives. They moved to a farm near Owen in 1914 and lived there until 1946 when they moved into the city of Owen.

Surviving, besides the widow, are seven children: Pellervo Puro of Waukegan, Ill., Arvo Puro, of Cleveland, O., Onnie Puro of Goshen, Ind., and Pantha Puro of Owen, R2, Mrs. Ernest (Gertie) Brein of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. George (Miriam) Luoma of Waukegan, Ill., Mrs. Howard (Helen) Watson of Indianapolis, Ind. Two children are deceased.

Pallbearers were: Andrew Kallio, Frank Maki, Mike Lampi, Kauno Niemi, Hjalmer Heikkein and John Rauha, Sr.

Flower girls were: Ruth Hill, Shirley Karye, Ann Ristola, Beverly Arola, Tynee Mutka, Mrs. Leslie Buss and Mrs. Harvey Rosenquist.
