Becken, Anna K. (23 NOV 1892 - 29 MAY 1949)

Anna Kristina Andersen Becken was born in Colorado on Nov. 23, 1892. While a small child she moved with her parents to a farm north of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) and later attended school in Owen, and has ever since made her home in and around this vicinity.

She was united in marriage to Gustav Becken on June 21, 1921. For the past several years she has been in ill health, and passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital, Wausau, on Sunday night May 29th, 1949.

She leaves to mourn her husband Gustav, two daughters, Jeanne and Maxine (Mrs. Jos. Potocnik) and one son Wesley who is a member of the U.S. Navy. One daughter Lucille preceded her in death.

She also leaves her father, Mrs. Chris Andersen of Owen, four sisters, Tena (Mrs. Ben Bruchert) of Owen, Mary (Mrs. Lonnie Rands) of Columbus, Montana; Goldie Busko of Ketchikan, Alaska; Ellen of Wausau and one brother of Phoenix, Ariz.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin), Owen, with burial at the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery at Curtiss. Rev. Borreson of Curtiss officiated. Pallbearers were Morris Miolund, John Lokken, Arnold Bakke, E. M. Peterson, Theo. Thompson and Cornel Erickson. Flower girls were Mrs. Ed Peterson, Mrs. Arnold Bakke, Mrs. Theo. Thompson, Mrs. Cornel Erickson, Mrs. Marie Miolund and Miss Borreson.
