Arndt, Barbara Jean (Mariage - 21 Oct. 1961)

Miss Barbara Jean Arndt of Withee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Anderson of Colby, exchanged marriage vows in St. John’s Lutheran church in Withee Saturday afternoon, Oct. 21, Rev. H. Timmermann reading the marriage ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Mrs. Ted Klabon, accompanied by Mrs. Herman Rabska at the organ, sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "O Perfect Love." The church was decorated with fall flowers.

Mrs. Harvey Anderson of Withee, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Miss Dolly Arndt of Withee was bridesmaid. Harvey Anderson of Withee was best man and Wayne Lindberg of Abbotsford was groomsman. Ushers were Arthur Steager and Oliver Gehrke, cousins of the bride.

The bride was attired in a floor-length gown of white tulle and lace over satin with straight neckline, long sleeves and tiered tulle and lace skirt. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a pearl crown. Her bouquet consisted of red roses and white carnations.

The matron of honor wore a sleeveless dress of red lace and net with boat neckline, full skirt and a cummerbund coming to a bow in front. Her nosegay bouquet consisted of red and white carnations. The bridesmaid wore an identically styled dress in Peacock blue and her bouquet consisted of blue and white carnations. Their headpieces consisted of a circle crown and short veils of matching colors.

The bride’s mother wore a gray dress with black accessories and her corsage consisted of yellow and white carnations. The groom’s mother wore a brown dress with black accessories and her corsage consisted of yellow and white carnations. The groom’s grand mother wore a dress of blue and black print with black accessories and her corsage consisted of pink and white carnations.

A reception, supper and dancing were held at the Colby City Hall.

The bride is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School, class of 1959, and the groom is a graduate of Colby High School, class of 1954, and is employed at the Loos Machine Shop as a machinist. After a wedding trip to points of interest in Southern Wisconsin and Illinois the couple will make their home at Colby, Route 2.

Guests were from Owen, Withee, Abbotsford, Colby, Loyal, Dorchester, Chili, Wisconsin Rapids, Medford and Lombard, Ill.
