The Church of God at Stanley was the scene of the marriage of Miss Laurel Lucille Bivans, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loran Bivans, and Clayton Douglas Flora on Saturday morning at 10:30. He is the son of Mrs. Ethel Flora and the late Sam Flora of Eidsvold.

The Reverend Cleo P. Kierns of Cornell, officiated at the double ring ceremony in the presence of a group of relatives and friends.

Bouquets of gladioli, snapdragons and other seasonal flowers were used in decorating the church for the wedding.

The nuptial music was played by Mrs. Charles Heagle at the organ.

Preceding the ceremony, the mother of the bride sang the solo, "God Gave Me Your." Geri Gilday was also a soloist, she sang "Because and "If God Left Only You."

Mr. Bivans gave his daughter in marriage.

For her wedding gown, the bride whose white organdy over taffeta. The high rounded neckline was of nylon marquisette finished with a wide ruffle of organdy, trimmed with Chantilly lace, which was detailed in an off shoulder effect.

The fitted bodice was attached to a full bouffant skirt that featured two wide, Chantilly lace trimmed ruffles extending into a long court train of the organdy.

Lace was also used to trim the long tapered sleeves.

Chantilly lace, trimmed with clustered seed pearls, made a halo which secured the fingertip veil of imported illusion, finished with a rolled hem.

Red roses and gladioli florets were in the bride’s bouquet.

Pastel colored sheers over taffeta were worn by the bride’s attendants. Their gowns were styled with fitted bodices and full skirts. They carried bouquets of yellow roses and wore headpieces, specially styled of braided ribbon, matching the gowns.

Mauvorneen Jankoski of Milwaukee, was the maid of honor; she was in orchid. The two other attendants, Betty Pilgrim wore yellow and Mrs. Garnet Smith wore lime green.

Patricia Sayles, a little neighbor of the bride, was flower girl.

Her white frock was styled similar to that worn by the bride. She carried a basket of white sweet peas and white roses.

Gordon Flora of Milwaukee was best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Arthur Ondal and Garnet Smith.

Ushering guests to their places were Russell Flora of Milwaukee, and Jerry Lee Karlen of Boyd, nephews of the bridegroom.

Mrs. Bivans wore navy blue with white accessories for her daughter’s wedding. Her corsage was of yellow roses. Mrs. Flora was in orchid with pink accessories, and her corsage was of pink roses. The bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Nora Bivans, was present. She wore a navy print and her corsage was of yellow roses.

A noon dinner was served to the bridal party and fifty guests at the Hotel Stanley. Seasonal flowers were sued for table decorations. The home of the bride’s parents was the scene of the afternoon reception, when the bride and bridegroom received good wishes from 150 friends and relatives. The refreshment table was centered with the artistically decorated wedding cake, flanked by candles in candelabra, and bouquets of flowers.

For traveling the bride wore a navy and white print dress and her accessories were red, including the corsage of red roses which formed the center of the bridal bouquet.

After a one week wedding trip in Minnesota and Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Flora will be at home in Thorp, where they are employed by the Blue Moon Cheese Corp. He is a veteran of World War II, having served three years in the army.

She graduated from Stanley High School and attended Anderson College in Anderson, Ind. last year.

Pre-nuptial events included a shower at the Ingvald Ondal home.
