Knoll, Charles (31 July 1862 - 26 Feb. 1941)

Charles Knoll, aged 79 years, died at the County Hospital, Wausau, on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 11:15 P.M. of pneumonia.

The deceased was born July 31, 1862 at Sheboygan. In 1899 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Dora Kohl at Sheboygan. They came to the Town of Holton in 1904 and settled on a farm five miles southwest of Milan where they lived until about ten years ago. His wife preceded him in death six years ago; a daughter, Mrs. Alex Sproote, also preceded him in death.

The past three years he made his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Knoll, Medford. He became ill Saturday, Feb. 22 and was taken to the hospital at Wausau where he died.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Kraut funeral home, Dorchester, the Rev. W. H. Ortwein of Athens, officiating. Internment followed at the Lutheran cemetery at Milan where his wife is buried.

Surviving are his sons: John, Medford; Henry, Laona; Paul Kohl, Town of Holton; his daughters: Mrs. Olga Rehm and Mrs. Minnie Hanke, Plymouth; and Mrs. Adela Burkhardt, Chicago.
