St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp was the setting Saturday, June 2, 1951, for the wedding of Miss Marian Jane Lewandowski, daughter of Mrs. Steve Lewandowski, and Frank Joseph Sopiarz, son of Joseph Sopiarz.

The Rev. Francis A. Piekarski read the double ring ceremony, as the bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Emil Lemanski, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The bride wore a gown of white marquisette over taffeta, with a fingertip veil, lace edged, held by a Juliet cap. She carried a bouquet of red roses with lilies of the valley, centered with a white orchid.

Delores Sopiarz, Thorp, the bridegroom’s sister, served as maid of honor, wearing a gown of blue and bridesmaids were Carol Valk, Stanley, who wore a green gown, Gladys Sorenson, Longwood, in yellow, and Connie Lewandowski, Milwaukee, in orchid. All of the sides carried bouquets of pink roses with lilies of the valley.

Leonard Szymanski, Thorp, was best man, while John Sopiarz, brother of the bridegroom, and Ray Kobylarczyk, Thorp, served as groomsmen.

A reception was held in the church hall.

The couple are honeymooning in the eastern states and Canada.

Out of town guests here to attend the wedding were: Mrs. Minnie Lemanski, Henry Rake and son Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Braun and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wally Henefieldt, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lemanski, of Beaver Dam; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Lemanski, Anna Kazimerski and friend, Connie and Helen Lewandowski, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Clislewicz and family, Rosholt, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sopiarz, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Sopiarz and family, Leon Sopiarz, Helen Sopiarz, Walter Sopiarz, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sopiarz, Kasmier Piekarski, Mrs. Ed Sumiec and son, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kascinski and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Schraeder and family, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Piekarski and family and Mrs. Walter Piekarski, all of Chicago; Edward Sopiarz and Mrs. Earl Sherrard of Madison.
