Dornik, Louisa (10 June 1873 - 29 July 1960)

Louisa Dornik was born in Yugoslavia on June 10th of the year 1873. In the year 1898 she was united in marriage to Mike Cerne, the marriage taking place in Germany. In the year 1910, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Cerne immigrated to the United States arriving at Breeze Hill, Kansas on November 10th of that year. In the year 1920 Mr. and Mrs. Mike Cerne moved to the Willard Community, Hendren Township, where they made their home until the time of their death. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Cerne. The husband and father, Mike Cerne, entered into his rest on June 10th of the year 1943.

Mother Cerne was granted to live many years among her own. She enjoyed good helath throughout the years, never requiring the services of a physician because of illness. Four months ago she was stricken of a fatal illness and last Saturday, July 29, 1960 at 9:00 o'clock in the evening rest and peace came to her, she having attained an age of 77 years, one month and 19 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure six children, Mike Cerne of Willard, Joe Cerne of Rock Dam, Frank Cerne of Chicago, Mathilda Podrovitz of Willard, Stepha Cohara of Denver, Colorado, Christina Fortuna of Willard, 12 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the home at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1st, Rev. J. C. Klingeberger officated and she was laid to rest in the S. N. P. J. Slovenian cemetery at Willard.
