Mucha, Walter T. (17 NOV 1917 - 25 OCT 2013)

Walter T. Mucha, age 96, of Tomah, formerly of Thorp, passed away on Friday, Oct. 25 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tomah.

He was born on July 19, 1917 to William and Katherine (Zak) Mucha in Lublin. He served in the United States Air Force and was a plane mechanic during World War II. He was united in marriage to Helen Kazimer on February 9, 1942. They farmed for several years in Lublin, then returned to Chicago, Ill. He worked at Heat Exchangers in Skokie, Ill., until retirement.

He retired to Thorp where he enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He had the talent of being able to repair almost anything. In later years, they moved to the Warrens/Tomah area.

He is survived by a daughter, Catherine Wabrowetz of Tomah; granddaughter, Karen (Kevin) Ewing of Camp Douglas; grandson, Scott (Ericka) Van Den Heuvel of Mukwonago; great-grandsons, Jimmy, Jacob and Landon of Camp Douglas; a nephew, Bob (Carol) Mucha of Lindenhurst Ill.; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Katherine; brothers, John, Ben, Albert, Tom and Stanley; wife, Helen; brothers-in-law, Paul, Ed and John Kazimer; and son-in-law, Kurt Wabrowetz.
