Carl H. Beilfuss, 67, prominent Withee business man is dead after a long illness. For the past four years he had been suffering from the effects of a stroke.

Funeral services were held from St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church in Owen with Dr. K. O. Crosby officiating. Burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Beilfuss was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Beilfuss of Abbotsford, Wis. He was born at Abbotsford on March 28, 1883. On November 11, 1909, he was married to Louise Ellen Roth. After their marriage the couple settled in Withee, where his first job was in the Soo Line Depot as an agent. In 1915 he became associated with the Withee State Bank serving as its assistant cashier. Shortly thereafter he was elevated to the position of cashier, a position he retained until his death. Two years ago he was voted president of the bank.

He was active in civic affairs, serving as a member of the Withee school board for 33 years and a member of the Riverside Cemetery Association for the past 30 years.

He is survived by his son, Bert, Withee, and a brother Walter of Neillsville. His wife preceded him in death in 1950.
