Frank T. Matthias will get Sterling Day Award

Frank T. Matthias, of Curtiss, has been awarded the Kenneth Sterling Day annual award to the senior of the University of Wisconsin, who is high in scholarship, has an interest in athletes and is of high moral Christian character.

Matthias, who has been active in campus activities during his university career, ahs maintained an average of 2.2 grade points per credit in his four years in the university. He received sophomore honors in his second year here. He is now an instructor in the topographical engineering department.

Matthias was editor of the Wisconsin Engineer in 1930-31, and president of the university Y.M.C.A. during the same year.

He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers; Polygon, honorary engineering society; Alpha Tau Sigma, honorary engineering journalism fraternity; Chi Epsilon, honorary civil engineering fraternity; Tau Beta Pi, honorary scholastic engineering fraternity; Phi Kappa Phi, senior honorary fraternity; and Scabbard and Blade, honorary military fraternity.
