Bennett, Erva (Marriage - 7 Sept. 1940)

Miss Erva Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bennett, Town of Brighton, became the bride of Harold Ruppert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ruppert, Town of Hull, Saturday afternoon at two o’clock. The Rev. E. L. Hoover read the nuptial service in the Presbyterian Church.

For her marriage the bride wore a floor length gown of frosted organdy. The long veil which she wore was that worn by her sister, Mrs. Donald Smart at her wedding. She carried a bouquet of mixed fall flowers.

Mrs. Smart attended as matron of honor. She wore a gown of peach colored taffeta and carried a bouquet similar to that of the bride.

Donald Smart, brother-in-law of the bride and cousin to the groom, was best man.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The home was decorated for the occasion in streamers of white, green and pink, forming a canopy. A large wedding bell hung at the center. A tiered bride’s cake and cut flowers formed the table decorations.

Guests who attended the wedding reception were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ruppert, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ruppert, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smart, Mr. Howard Harris, Mr. Alfred Smart, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jeske and son, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Artthur Fogarty, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bennett, Wausau; Miss Eunice Bennett, Sparta; Mrs. Elizabeth Hannawalt and Mrs. Mary Hannawalt, Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Ruppert are making their home with the groom’s parents.
