Kittl, Mary Josephine (Marriage - 27 July 1940)

Miss Mary Josephine Kittl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michal Kittl of Goodrich, and Francis Edward Wiese, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wiese of Abbotsford, were united in marriage during the seven o’clock nuptial high mass in Holy Rosary Catholic church. The Rev. G. Reuter read the double ring marriage service.

The bride wore a white satin gown, with lace insets, long sleeves and train. Tiny satin buttons trimmed the front and back of the fitted bodice. Her long veil fell from a seed pearl tiara. A gold cross and chain were worn by the bride. She carried a bouquet of red roses, pink asters and white swansonia tied with a large white bow.

Mrs. Chester Marthaler of Goodrich was matron of honor to her sister. She wore a floor length gown of peach net over silk and a peach crown.

Mrs. Margaret Wiese in blue taffeta and Miss Esther Wiese, sisters of the groom in aqua taffeta, were bridesmaids. They wore crowns of white and white accessories. The bride’s attendants wore wrist corsages of mixed flowers.

The groom was attended by his brother, Clarence, of Milwaukee as best man. Joseph Kittl of Goodrich, brother of the bride, and Ervin Wunsch of Medford also attended the groom.

A reception was held at the farm home of the groom’s parents. Dinner and supper were served to approximately 200 guests. The home was decorated with wedding bells and crepe streamers of white, peach and blue which formed a canopy over the bridal table. Beautifully decorated cakes for the bride and each of her attendants formed the centerpieces for the tables. Salmon pink gladioli on the bride’s table and clarks on the other tables completed the decorations.

In the evening the bridal couple greeted many more of their friends at a wedding dance at Wiedenhoeft’s park.

On Sunday evening, Mrs. Chester Marthaler, and Mrs. Walter Marthaler, two sisters of the bride, entertained immediate relatives at their home at supper in honor of the bridal couple. A wedding dance at the Goodrich Town Hall also was given in their honor by the Farmer’s Union Sunday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Wiese are making their home on the farm of the groom’s parents, just north of Abbotsford on highway 13.

Among relatives and friends from away who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kittl, sons, Henry and Anthony, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Marthaler, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Marthaler, of Goodrich; Mr. and Mrs. Romaine Morehouse, children, Thaddeus and Vivian, and John Vander Heuvel of St. Paul; Clarence Wiese and Miss Goldie and Alvina Gallenbach of Horicon; Mrs. Valentine Wunsch and family of Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Elfert, the Rev.
