Sazama, Elizabeth (19 Nov. 1879 - 19 Mar. 1961)

Mrs. Elizabeth Sazama died at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital Sunday at 8:05 P.M. at the age of 86 years. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. John B. Pinion officiating, and internment was made in St. Mary’s Catholic cemetery. Pall bearers were Kiemut Dahlke, Kenneth Dahlke, Tony Sazama, Jerry Sazama, Joseph Sazama.

Mrs. Sazama was born on November 19, 1879, in Czechoslovakia and came to the United States at the age of 16, settling in Chicago, Ill. She came to this community in 1894 and was married to Joseph Sazama in October 1896. He died in 1947.

Surviving are three sons, Drs. Frank and John Sazama, both of Chippewa Falls, and Tony Sazama of Worthington, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Bruno (Margaret) Dalke of Edgar and Mrs. Raymond (Mary) Berg of Colby; 31 grand children and 23 great grand children.

One son, four sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Sazama was well known for her fine Christian character, honest in all her dealings, and, like all the early pioneers, was of a kindly and congenial disposition.
