Kluve, Marion (Marriage - 19 May 1931)

Murphy - Kluve

George F. Murphy of Abbotsford and Miss Marion Kluve, daughter of Mrs. Helga Kluve of Curtiss were united in marriage Tuesday morning, May 19, at 10 o’clock, wedding ceremony taking place at the Catholic parsonage, the Rev. Father McGuire tying the nuptial knot, with Andrew Ryan and Miss Eunice Kluve acting as ceremonial witnesses.

Immediately after the wedding the party were served with a bounteous wedding breakfast at the home of Mrs. Helga Kluve, mother of the bride.

Mr. and Mrs. Murphy then started on a trip that is taking them through southern Canada. They stopped at Thorp and Chippewa where they visited a sister and brother of the groom, and also expected to visit at other points in Wisconsin before returning home.

The bride is an exceptionally fine young lady, is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school with the class of 1928, being very popular in her class and an unusually bright student.

Everyone in this section knows George, perhaps better than the writer. He came to Abbotsford in the employ of the Soo Line as operator in 1920, a position he has held with honor ever since. At that time he started boarding with Mr. and Mrs. John Hutt and has been with them the entire time as a boarder and will surely be missed around here.

The newlyweds will go to house-keeping in furnished rooms in the Mrs. Nels Olson home on their return. They are expected home Tuesday.

Several showers were given the bride in honor of her approaching marriage, and a party was given at the Hutt restaurant for George last Friday evening.

Many useful and beautiful gifts were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Murphy and the Tribune joins with their many friends in extending hearty felicitations to the newlyweds
