Miss Marian Markowski and Richard Burzynski of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), exchanged wedding vows at 10 o’clock on Saturday morning, Aug. 12th, 1950 at St. Mary’s Church, Stanley. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Markowski, Stanley, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burzynski, Thorp. Rev. Ralph Geisler performed the double ring ceremony before an altar which was decorated with seasonal garden flowers.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of traditional white satin fashioned with a fitted bodice, long sleeves, the lace marquisette yoke forming a high neckline. Her full skirt fell in a long entrain, and her lace trimmed fingertip veil was held in place with a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses and chrysanthemums.

Immediately following the ceremony, Virginia Markowski, sister of the bride, as a surprise bridesmaid, came forward with a bouquet of white mums which the bride place at the feet of the Blessed Virgin. Virginia wore a gown of pin taffeta and a full marquisette overskirt..

Another sister of the bride, Elaine Markowski, Chicago, was the maid of honor, in Nile green. Dolores Burzynski, sister of the groom, was the bridesmaid, in orchid. Their gowns were fashioned identically with the one worn by the surprise bridesmaid and they carried bouquets of pink glads and mums.

Barbara Zasacki, Thorp, a niece of the groom, was the flower girl. Her gown was of yellow taffeta styled with a full marquisette overskirt and she carried a basket of mums and glads.

Francis Markowski, a brother of the bride, was ring bearers. The best man was Alex Langiewicz, friend of the groom. Acting as groomsman was Stanley Markowski Jr., brother of the bride. Peter Burzynski and Walter Romaz, Thorp, were ushers.

A dinner was served at the P.N.A. Hall in Thorp at noon, followed by a reception for about 200 guests. A dance was also held at the hall in the evening .

The bride’s mother witnessed the wedding in a navy blue print dress and the groom’s mother wore a black dress. Both were complemented with corsages of red and white roses.

The bride attended St. Ann’s Parochial School, Stanley, and also attended Stanley High School. She was employed in Chicago.

The groom is employed as a farmer and they will reside on his farm near Thorp.

Included among the out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Skaleski and family, Allen Bassel, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Romaz and sons. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Burzynski, Mr. and Mrs. George Burzynski, Mr. and Mrs. John Burzynski and family, and Frank Markowski, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nerdrum and daughter of Cadott; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Baldeschwiler and family of Jim Falls; Mr. and Mrs. John Banaszyk and family and Victor Skaleski of Lublin.
