Seefeldt, Sonia Sonita (Marriage - 20 October 1950)

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Meissner, newlyweds, are now residing on the groom’s farm at Chili. The new Mrs. Meissner is the former Sonia Sonita Seefeldt. The groom is the son of Mrs. Bertha Meissner of Chili.

The wedding took place at the United Brethren Church in Chili, Friday, October 20, 1950.

The bride chose a gown of traditional white satin with the skirt forming a train. The gown was designed with a fitted bodice, self-covered buttons down the back, a yoke of white silk chiffon, and long tight-fitting sleeves. The skirt was detailed with wide imported rose point lace. The same lace was repeated around the yoke. Her fingertip veil of silk illusion cascaded from a crown of white seed pearls and rhinestones and she carried a bouquet of pink roses.

Miss Sally Seefeldt, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor, Mrs. Norman Meissner, Chili, and Mrs. Chester Meissner, DeForest, sisters-in-law of the groom, were bridesmaids. They wore American beauty, bronze and green satin gowns.

The groom was attended by Elmer Grobe, his cousin, as best man, and Norman Meissner, Chili, and Chester Meissner, DeForest, as groomsmen.

A reception was held in the afternoon in the church parlors for 110 guests.

The bride is a graduate of the Marshfield High School and has been employed there.
