Klimmer, Frank (15 APR 1866 - 15 JUN 1944)

A requiem mass was read in St. Anthony’s Catholic church at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 17, by the Rev. Aloys Zinthefer for Frank Klimmer, 78, who died at 10:30 a.m. last Thursday at his home, following a heart attack. Burial was made in the parish cemetery..

Mr. Klimmer was born on Apr. 15, 1866, in Sheboygan and grew to manhood in that community. In 1886 he was engaged in construction work for the Great Northern Railway Co. in Montana, and in 1891 he helped build the foundation of St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield.

He was married to Miss Margaret Bauer at Loyal on Nov. 9, 1892, and the couple settled on a farm south of here. Two years ago they moved to the village.

Surviving are his wife and four children, Arthur Klimmer of Marshfield and Anton Klimmer, Mrs. Everett (Anita) Herdrich and Mrs. C. H. (Eva) Riggin of Loyal; a sister, Mrs. Anna Vetter, of Milwaukee, and eight grandchildren. Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

The following from away attended the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Art Klimmer and three children, Mrs. Grant Johnson and Mrs. Alex Davel of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bauer of Bakerville and Mr. and Mrs. William Bauer of Robbinsdale, Minn.

Pallbearers were Albert Davel, Joseph Wendel, Nick Beaver, Leo Theisen, Leander Schuld and Carl Gerdes.

The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a loved one.
