Kuehn, Joyce (Marriage - 30 September 1950)

Miss Joyce Kuehn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Kuehn, became the bride of Darrel Hohenstein, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hohenstein, at a ceremony performed at the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church on Saturday, September 30, at two o’clock.

Vows were exchanged before an altar banked with baskets of fall flowers. The Rev. Virgil Nulton officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of white taffeta fashioned with a nylon yoke and over-skirt. Her finger tip veil of rayon net, made by her mother, was edged in lace and fell from a tiara of white apple blossoms. She wore white taffeta mitts and carried a bridal bouquet of pink and white carnations.

For her role as matron of honor Mrs. Merlin Pinnow of Footville wore a blue taffeta dress designed with a chiffon yoke. She carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations.

Merlin Pinnow of Footville served as best man. Vernon and Robert Drescher acted as ushers.

During the service H. R. Briggs sang two selections, accompanied by Mrs. Virgil Nulton at the organ.

Following the ceremony a reception for 95 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The house was tastefully decorated with flowers and white, pink and blue streamers. The huge wedding cake was baked by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. James West. The young couple is now honeymooning in southern Minnesota.

The bride was graduated with the class of ’50 from the Neillsville High School and has been employed at the local hospital. The groom operates a milk route.

Guests from out of town attending the ceremony included Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Pinnow of Footville; Mr. and Mrs. Casper Bruley, Mrs. Laddie Kuehn and Mrs. Clouse all of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hohenstein, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Smith and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rosenstock of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
