Willard (21 January 1971)

The Willard 4-H club met last Tuesday night at the parish center. Carol Govek, president, conducted the meeting. Flag pledges were given by Bonnie Yurkovich. Members planned a skating party held January 16, at the Krainz pond. Literature was passed out. Meeting will be held every second Tuesday of each month.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kieffer and family were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Halbrader and family. On Monday night Mr. and Mr. Bernard Walker of Neillsville were guests of the Halbraders.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tolaney, Jr., had as guests Friday night Mr. and Mrs. Victor Halbrader.

Miss Nancy Arch and Mr. and Mrs. Jon Johnson of Milwaukee spent the weekend with their father, Ernest Arch.

Mrs. James Anderson and son, Tommy, of Eau Claire spent three days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lamovec, Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Klapatauskas and Mrs. Martin Briceland and daughter, Susan, of Greenwood spent the weekend in Milwaukee.

Guests last Sunday of john Govek were Jim Wychen, Jim Kipp, of Neillsville and Norm Draeger of Tomah.

Mrs. Frank Parkel II stayed in Madison for a week with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parkel III, returning Sunday. Her husband went there to bring her home and they also stopped to visited relatives in Milwaukee.

Miss Gail Susa of Milwaukee spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Dick Noah.

Mrs. Lucille Lunka, Mrs. Stanley Suda and Ernest Arch left Saturday morning for Las Vegas, Nev., with a group. They expected to be back by Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Krapf were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lamovec, Sr. and family.

John Perme and Louis Lesar were chairmen last Sunday night for the card party held at the parish center sponsored by the C.C. M. A prize was won at each of the 12 tables played. The door prize was won by Henry Lamovec, and the raffle prize by Joe Gregorich. A lunch was served.

Operation Friendship met last Sunday at the Vincent Ackert home in Medford. The following were present: Edward Bayuk, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Gosar, Dean Artz of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Roland of Withee, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Zoutendam of Neillsville, Wayne Hendrickson of Unity, Rev. Emil Hodnik and Mr. and Mrs. James Nikolay of Abbotsford.

Yes, it’s cold, with the temperatures Monday morning 10 degrees below zero.
