Steinbach, Gerald “Jerry” Allen (8 October 1959 - 6 October 2013)

Gerald “Jerry” A. Steinbach, 53, of Granton, was met at the heavenly gates by his little brother Phillip “Chuckie” Steinbach Sunday, October 6, 2013.

Gerald Allen Steinbach was born Oct. 8, 1959, in Neillsville. He attended school in Granton, and at the age of 12 he started working for Kuhl Farms. Jerry worked there until he went to work for Roehl Transport as a truck driver where he worked for 30 years. Before he retired in 2009, Jerry worked as a trainer for Roehl and earned the One-Million Mile Safety Award and was fast approaching the Two-Million Mile Safety Award. Jerry was also very proud he won the national Truck Driving Competition Award. Jerry was always known by his saying “Yo Whasssup?” and he loved visiting with friends and family. His grandkids knew him as the Grandpa with the cow hat. Jerry was a member of Our Father’s House in Chili.

He is survived by his sons, Russell (Tina) Steinbach of Granton and Jon Peek of Chili; his mother, Joyce Steinbach of Granton; two grandchildren, Mataya and Kallen Steinbach; two brothers, Tim (Cheryl) Steinbach and Ed (Tammy) Steinbach, both of Granton. He is further survived by several nieces, nephews and long-time friends Wayne and Janice Kuhl of Granton.

Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip (Chuckie) Steinbach and his grandparents.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at the Granton Fire Hall from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
