Kilty, Donna Mae "Woodsy" (Treankler) (November 4, 1933 - January 8, 2009)

Donna Mae "Woodsy" Kilty, age 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at her home in Edgar. She was under the loving care of Ministry Home Hospice and her two angels Barbara and Judy.

Donna was born on November 4, 1933 to Lloyd and Helen (Van Dreel) Treankler in the town of Eau Pleine.

She attended Lynburg Grade School and graduated from Colby High School in 1952.

After graduation she went to Ohio and worked for Crol Collier Magazine in the billing department. In 1953 she moved back to Wisconsin and worked at the Murray Manufacturing Company in Wausau. On April 8, 1954 she married Merlin Kilty. Together, they farmed the town of Frankfort until 1985.

In her spare time she enjoyed her family, baking, garage sales, sewing, and walks with her good friend and neighbor Verna. She was an active member of the First United Church of Christ. She also was a former 4H leader, Frankford homemaker, and in 1996 she was the Marathon County Homemaker of the year.

She is survived by Merlin Kilty, Abbotsford; children, Debbie (Ron) Johnson, Batesville, IN., Mike (Cheryl) Kilty, Abbotsford, Pat (Debbie) Kilty, Colby; and Mark (Bev) Kilty, Colby, Wis. She was a proud grandma of 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters; Mary (Don) White, Barbara (Jon) Bandow, Kathy (Ted) Weis; a sister in law Judy Treankler; and a brother Pete Treankler. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard, and an infant brother David.

A memorial gathering will take place at the First United Church of Christ, Colby, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12 with a service at 6:00 p.m. The Rev. Kenneth Dix will preside.

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting the family with arrangements.

In Lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Ministry Home Care Hospice. Donna will be remembered and dearly missed by all who knew her.
