Feirer, Harry A. (31 JUL 1929 - 5 OCT 2013)

Harry A. Feirer, age 84, of Colby, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield. Family and friends are welcome from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 10 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford with a Parish Rosary Service to be held at 5:00 PM. There will also be a visitation on Friday from 10:00 AM until the service at the church.

Harry was born on July 31, 1929 in Marshfield, the son of William and Anna (Wenzel) Feirer. He attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School and graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1948. Harry was united in marriage to Mary Lou Plath on February 22, 1954 in Hewitt.

He was a welder for Felker Brothers in Marshfield before moving to Colby in 1959 where he owned the A & W Root Beer stand. In 1962, Harry purchased the bottle gas company. In 1964, he became the Standard Oil Jobber which became Feirer Oil Company. Harry also served in the Army National Guard for six years, liked woodworking, duck hunting, fishing and spending time at the cabin on Lake Solberg in Phillips. He loved his family and especially enjoyed his granddaughters.

Harry is survived by his wife, Mary Lou of Colby; three children: Susan (Brian) Heggelund of Marshfield, Gregory (Vicky) Feirer of River Falls and Hugh (Jeanine) Feirer of Unity; three grandchildren: Chelsea Heggelund, Andrea (Adam) Koester and Carolyn (Joao) Silva. He is further survived by three sisters, Jeanette Feirer, Darlene (Ray) Alt and Audrey Feirer all of Marshfield; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James and two sisters, Betty Kaiser and Beverly Hintz.
