Pals, Verdonna (Marriage - 14 Mar. 1959)

Miss Verdonna Pals, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Pals of Abbotsford, and Richard A. Wiskow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wiskow of Merrill, were married in the Presbyterian church in Abbotsford Saturday afternoon, Rev. Lawrence Faivre officiating at the ceremony. The church was decorated with white gladioli for the occasion.

As the bride was given in marriage by her father, she wore a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace featuring a scoop neckline trimmed with small hearts made of sequins. The lace skirt was styled by a scalloped edge falling over a net flounce and her veil was held by a crown of pearlized orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

Miss Lorraine Pals of Abbotsford was maid of honor and Mrs. Paul Thompson, Jr., of Wausau was bridesmaid. They wore blue waltz length gowns of nylon sheer with matching blue hats and carried bouquets of blue and white carnations.

Ewald Katke Jr., of Merrill was best man and Paul Thompson Jr., of Wausau was groomsman. Ushers were Rodney Paul of Stewart, Minn., and Fred Neubauer of Merrill.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride attended Colby High School and Mr. Wiskow attended Merrill High School. He is employed at the Northern Door Corp. in Merrill. The couple will make their home at 801 ½ Fourth St., in Merrill.
