Becherer, Louise Johanne (1 Mar. 1883 - 10 Mar. 1959)

Mrs. William Becherer died Tuesday morning at 9:30 o’clock at the age of 76 years at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital where she had been a patient the past 30 days. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. The body is reposing at the Lulloff Funeral Home.

Louise Johanne Schumacher was born in Portland, Minn., on March 1, 1883. She married William Becherer on October 17, 1901, at Fairfax, Minn., where they lived for 12 years and then they bought an 80 acre tract of land in the town of Hull which they cleared and built into a fine farm. They retired in 1946 and moved to the city of Colby, Wis.

Surviving are her husband; one son, Willard, of the town of Hull; four brothers, Adolph Schumacher and Albert Schumacher of Fairfax, Minn., Ernest Schumacher of Roseholdt, Minn., and Otto Schumacher of New Ulm, Minn.; one sister, Emma Schumacher of Fairfax, Minn.; five granddaughters and four grand sons. Two sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Becherer was a member of Zion Sewing Circle and Zion Ladies Aid. She was well known for her fine Christian character and industrious disposition.

Funeral services for Mrs. William Becherer were held Friday afternoon in the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Neal Huhn, Marion Brotherton, Carl Sommers, Elroy Brehm, Dale Reis and Ed Oehmichen.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schumacher and Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Kunz of New Ulm, Minn., Adolph and Emma Schumacher of Fairfax, Minn., Ernest Schumacher of Rosholt, S. Dak., Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Drahos of Hutchinson, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hingess of Abbotsford, Mrs. Lydia Alhorn of Wisconsin Dells, Ed Hingess, Walter Hingess, Mrs. Ben Tichey and Leatrice, Mrs. James Myhre and Mrs. Ed Pirwitz, all of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rosenberg of Thiensville.
