Oswald, Lucille M. (9 NOV 1917 - 1 DEC 2008)

Lucille M. Oswald, 91, Marshfield, Wisconsin, died on Monday Dec. 1, 2008, at Golden Memorial Living Center-Three Oaks. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 5, at Faith Lutheran Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Bob Lesher officiated. Special music was provided by Harry and Eleanore Johnson, with Maldon Plank serving as organist. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery.

Lucille Maria Olson was born Nov. 9, 1917, in the town of Warner, to Henry and Nora (nee Soefker) Olson. She attended schools in Greenwood. She married Warren Oswald on Aug. 30, 1941. He died June 8, 1943, during World War ll in the Aleutian Islands. She later married Orville Oswald on Oct. 4, 1946, in Neillsville. They owned and operated a dairy farm in the Greenwood area. They moved to Marshfield in 1982 after they sold the farm. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the ladies’ "Piece Corp." She was very outgoing and loved socializing. Other interests included cooking, history, and making quilts.

She is lovingly survived by one son Gary (Jeanette) Oswald, Marshfield; three grandchildren, Douglas Oswald, Stevens Point, Keith (Marguerite) Oswald, Chicago, and Jennifer (Jeffrey) DuMez, Green Bay; five great-grandchildren, Lauren DuMez, Nicholas Oswald, Benjamin DuMez, Noah Oswald and Evelyn DuMez; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Oswald; two brothers, Leo Oswald and Daniel Oswald; and four sisters, Evelyn Turnquist, Leona Turnquist, Sophie Crowley and Selma Olson.

The family of Lucille would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the stall of Golden Living Care-Three Oaks for the loving and compassionate care that was given to her.

Hansen-Shilling Funeral Home, Marshfield, assisted the family with arrangements.
