Lindner, Carl A. #2 (3 APR 1938 - 30 NOV 2008)

Carl A. Lindner, 80, Greenwood, died peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, with his family by his side, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood, The Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Nathan, Russell, Jake, Zac, Ben, Nike and Curt Lindner; Phillip, Austin, and Loren Ruzic; and Joe, Ted and Andy Behnke.

Carl Andrew Lindner was born April 3, 1938, in Greenwood, to Casper and Marie (nee Keller) Lindner. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at St. Mary’s Catholic School. After completing his education, he worked on the family farm with his father, until he was united in marriage to Ethel Hanson on June 20, 1951, in Abbotsford, Wis. They bought a farm in 1951, in the town of Eaton, just south of Greenwood. He farmed and built barns until his retirement in 1989. After their retirement, they enjoyed spending the winter months in Texas. He continued to live on the farm until the time of his death. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, and had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing with his grandchildren, being in the woods, camping, and tinkering around doing odd jobs.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Ethyl, Greenwood; was dearly loved by his children, Chuck (Denise) Lindner, Greg (Donna) Lindner, Greenwood, Mark (Connie) Lindner, Willard, Mary Kay (Ken) Behnke, Loyal, Dennis (Michelle) Lindner, Loyal, Monica Ruzie, Loyal and Dale (Diane) Lindner, Greenwood; 25 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six sisters, Elaine Herdrich. Greenwood, Jackie Lindner, Greenwood, Irene (Frank) Wilke, Loyal, Jeanette Sullivan, Virginia, Shirley (Henry) Hanezich, Willard and Dorothy Wessel, Sheboygan; and four brothers, Donnie (Mary Ann) Lindner, Greenwood, LaVerne (Joan) Lindner, Loyal, Arthur (Shirley) Lindner, Greenwood, and Richard (Bonnie) Lindner, Greenwood.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

The family asks that memorials be given to St. Mary’s Memorial Fund in his honor.
