Beyer, Ben E. (19 JUN 1887 - 13 DEC 1947)

Ben E. Beyer, a former resident of this community and the former owner of the Timothy Belt Cheese Factory, passed away at his home in Fond du Lac of heart disease on Dec. 13, 1947. He had reached the age of sixty years.

Mr. Beyer was born on June 19, 1887, in Illinois. He was united in marriage on Nov. 29, 1911 to Hattie A. Kosloske at Rogersville, Wis. He and his family resided at Juneau and Gillett for some time and then he purchased the Timothy Belt Cheese Factory at Thorp in 1932, operating it until 1941, when the family moved to Fond du Lac.

He is survived by his widow and two sons, William and Alfred of Thorp, one daughter, Mrs. Walter Reinke of Thorp, one brother, Gust Beyer of Madison, five sisters, Mrs. Lydia Greget of Chicago, Mrs. Bob Toltzow and Mrs. Oscar Blohm, Beaver Dam, Mrs. Helen Buchter, Fond du Lac, and Mrs. Alex Voss of Horicon, Wis. His twin brother preceded his in death in 1937.

Funeral services were held at St. Peters Lutheran Church at Fond du Lac on Dec. 16, Rev. Gerhard Pieper officiating. Burial was made at Rogersville, Wis., with the following serving as pallbearers: Earl Buchter, Emil Kottke, Rob Blohm, Helmuth Blohm and Ben and Ed Leu.
