Ampe, Mrs. Julius (Hurt by mad cow - 17 JUL 1925)

Mrs. Julius Ampe on route one met with a rather peculiar misfortune last Friday evening. At about six o'clock Mrs. Ampe went to get a cow from the pasture, the cow having just recently freshened. For some reason or other the cow became mad and took for Mrs. Ampe, knocking her down and then running over her three times.

The family dog was with her and finally the cow started chsing the dog, and Mrs. Ampe was able to make her escape. She says that if it had not been for the dog being there, the cow would undoubtedly have killed her .

She got a big cut in the neck and her left leg was also badly bruised. She was taken to the hospital at Marshfield where the wounds were dressed. Several stitches had to be taken to close the gash in the neck.

At present Mrs. Ampe is getting along nicely and it is hoped that she will be able to return home the latter part of this week.
