Abramczuk, Adam (22 MAR 1923 - 18 SEP 1947)

Adam Abramczuk, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Abramczuk of the Town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), was instantly killed when his car sideswiped another on Highway 29 about ten miles east of Abbotsford, Wednesday evening, Sept. 18th, 1947, and verturned. He was returning to Wausau, where he has been employed for some time. Theo. Cieciora of Wausau, with him, received a broken pelvis and other injuries.

Adam Abramczuk was born in the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co.) on March 22, 1923. He attended the local schools and joined the Marines on June 20, 1945, being discharge Feb. 18, 1946.

He is survived by his parents, three brothers, August of Chicago, Louis and Anton of Thorp; five sisters, Mrs. Harriet Cohn, Mrs. Vila Peliwo and Pauline Abramczuk of Chicago; Mrs. Ann Hendricks and Louise Abramczuk of Thorp.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church at ten o’clock Saturday morning, Sept. 20, Rev. Francis Piekarski officiating and interment following in the parish cemetery. Military honors were accorded by the local American Legion Post at the grave. Pallbearers were Paul Cieciora, Stanley Osowski, Chester, Louis, August and Anton Abramczuk.
