Parker, William D. (22 May 1933 - 9 Dec. 2008)

Abbotsford, Wis. -- William "Bill" D. Parker, 75 years, of Abbotsford, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, in the emergency department at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A celebration of Bill's life will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home in Abbotsford, Wis. A private committal service will take place at a later date.

Bill was born May 22, 1933, in Dongola, Ill., to Ervin and Mary Ellen (Jackson) Parker. He attended school in southern Illinois until the eighth grade. After his schooling, Bill held various jobs. He married the former Marilyn Rendl on Oct. 19, 1962, in Woodstock, Ill. After his marriage, Bill began driving truck over the road.

They resided in Illinois until moving to the Abbotsford area in 1989. Bill and Marilyn had lived in Abbotsford until his sudden passing away Tuesday. Bill was an avid horse shoe player, and he loved playing pool. He enjoyed his model railroading as well as fishing and hunting.

Bill leaves behind his loving wife, Marilyn of Abbotsford, and his children, Nancy (James) McShane of Union Town, Pa.; Darlene (Kenneth) Shallow of Lake In The Hills, Ill.; Melody (Kevin) Kamphausen of Woodstock, Ill.; Susan (William) Lohse of Chetek; Debbie (Robert) Garbisch of Loyal; Tammy (Harold) Hansen of Wild Rose; and Kathy (Chuck) Tompkins of Abbotsford, Wis. Bill is further survived by 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Jr.; and a brother, Claude Parker Sr.
