Wiersig, Eveline (Marriage - 31 May 1958)

Miss Eveline Wiersig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wiersig of Colby, Wis. and Norman F. Kobs, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kobs of Colby, exchanged marriage vows in Zion Lutheran church in Colby Saturday evening, May 31, at 8:00 P.M., Rev. William Christian reading the marriage ceremony. The bride was attended by Miss Selma Kobs, sister of the groom, as maid of honor and Miss Lynn Wiersig of Austin, Minn., niece of the bride, as junior bridesmaid. Attending the groom were Dr. D. O. Wiersig, brother of the bride, and Wayne Johnson of Greenwood, nephew of the bride. Mrs. Leslie Johnson of Greenwood, sister of the bride, sang "The Wedding Prayer," and the church choir sang "Beside Still Waters."

The bride was attired in a bright linen dress in chemise style. The brief jacket which was lined in pale blue formed a point in the back. Both the bodice of the dress and the jacket were accented with a heavy pale blue lace set off with rhinestones. Her accessories were white. Her nosegay bouquet consisted of white orchid, pink and white roses and lilies of the valley.

The maid of honor wore a semi-sheer dress of evening blue. Its short jacket had three-quarter length sleeves. Accessories were in white. The junior bridesmaid wore a dress of pink dotted Dacron with tiny collar and puffed sleeves. Little pink and satin bows with rhinestone centers adorned the front of the bodice. She wore little white gloves and a band of pink tea roses across her hair. Their nosegay bouquets consisted of pink tea roses. Mrs. Wiersig was dressed in light blue lace over satin with beige accessories. Her corsage consisted of rosebuds and carnations.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents which was decorated in pink, white and aqua streamers and white bells. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at the Kolby Park Pavilion. Guests were from Milwaukee, Marshfield, Colby, Dorchester, Abbotsford, Watertown, Madison, Marathon, Wisconsin Rapids, Greenwood and Stetsonville.

The couple left on a trip to Northern Wisconsin and Canada and will be at home, after June 7th, in Marshfield where the groom is employed by the Felker Motor Service.
