Dix, Lena (1876 - 1958)

Mrs. Fred Dix died Monday morning at 8:30 o’clock at her home in Colby, Wisconsin at the age of 82 years, a heart attack being the cause of her death. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mrs. Dix, nee Lena Flaska, was born in Stratford on January 19, 1876, and married Fred Dix in March Rapids on June 3rd, 1906. Immediately after their marriage, they moved to Colby where Mr. Dix was engaged in the meat market business. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1956. A brother and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ida Podratz of Wausau, Mrs. Bertha Helfrich of Snohmishe, Wash., and Mrs. Louise Wiese of Edgar, and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Fred Dix last Thursday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Claude Bane, Frank Meyer, Nick Schaffer, Emil Wolk, Frank Apfelbeck and William Singstock.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Aron Dix and daughter of Neenah, Mr. and Mrs. Lester E. Wagner and children of Brookfield, Edward Podratz, Mrs. Ida Podratz and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larson of Wausau.
