Waldo, Margaret (4 SEP 1948)

The chapel at the Methodist Church, Kenosha, was the scene of the marriage of Miss Margaret Adele Waldo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Waldo, Kenosha, and Edwin E. Niemi, 111 N. Orchard St., son of Mr. and Mrs. Kauno Niemi, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.). The Rev. Eugene Ranso performed the ceremony, Saturday, Sept. 4th, 1948, at 2 p.m.

The bride approached the altar ina colonially styled gown of white slipper satin with a marquisette yoke. Her lace underskirt peeped from beneath its hemline which was caught up at intervals. It was in this same wedding gown that the bride’s twin sister, Mrs. Walter Kirchner, repeated her marriage vows.

Mrs. Kirchner was her sister’s matron of honor in a rose satin complemented by flowers of yellow gladioli. Olive green satin with yellow gladioli, too, was the choice of the bridesmaid, Miss Natalie Evers. Five year old Charles Walker carried the rings.

Arnie Bundgaard, Withee, was the best man. Stuart Waldo was the bridegroom’s attendant. Ushers were John Sloan, Madison; and Walter Kirchner, Galesville.

The couple received 250 guests on the church lawn. After a travel to the northern lake region, the newlyweds will live at 511 E. Johnson St., after Sept. 14. Young Mrs. Niemi was graduated this summer from the University of Wisconsin. The bridegroom is a student at the state university.

The couple visited in this community from last Friday until Monday, visiting with relatives and friends.
