Grether, Grace (Marriage - 18 June 1950)

A simple double-ring wedding ceremony was solemnized in the Salem Ebenezer Reformed church by Dr. K. J. Stuebbe at Newton, Wis., at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 1950, when the Rev. Chester Ploeger of Dell Rapids, S. D., claimed as his bride Miss Grace Grether of Neillsville. The Rev. Mr. Ploeger is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ploeger, of Storm Lake, Ia., and Mrs. Ploeger is the daughter of Mrs. David Grether of Neillsville.

The bride wore a pink silk shantung street length dress and wore a corsage of pink roses, blue delphinium and white statice. Her jewelry was a pearl choker and pearl earrings. Her matron of honor was Mrs. Athniel B. Stuebbe of Mishicot, Wis. She wore a yellow organdy street length dress and a corsage of yellow roses. Mr. Athniel B. Stuebbe was the groom’s best man.

Miss Esther Stuebbe played Lohengrin’s wedding march as the couple walked down the aisle. Mendelssohn’s Recessional was played after the ceremony.

Mrs. Ploeger is a graduate of Milwaukee State Teacher’s college and for the past four years was an art instructor at Berea College, Berea, Kentucky.

The Rev. Mr. Ploeger graduated from Mission House College and Seminary and is the pastor of the Reformed Church of America at Dell Rapids, S.D.
