Hofmann, Reinhold E. (13 FEB 1871 - 5 MAR 1948)

Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock funeral services were conducted from the Finnish Church at Dorchester for Reinhold Ernest Hofmann, who passed away March 5th, 1948 at his farm home in the Town of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.). News of his death came as a surprise to his many friends and relatives, as he had apparently been in good health. Death came to him very suddenly on Friday night. He was 77 years and 20 days of age.

Reinhold Ernest Hofmann was born on Feb. 13, 1871, in Saxony, Germany. He came to America as a young man and lived a few years at Sheboygan, Wis., and then settled on a farm northwest of Dorchester, Wis. For the past 18 years he had resided on his farm in the Town of Hoard. In 1898 he was married to Anna Schrader, who preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing away four children, George of Merrill, Wis., Edward of Owen, Freda Schulze of Togo, Minn., and Esther Skoog of Greenwood, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and one sister who lives in Germany. Besides his wife, two daughters and a son preceded him in death.

Pallbearers at the services Teusday were Herman Hofmann, Paul Hofmann, Albert Hofmann, John Hofmann, Hugo Hofmann, and Ernest Hofmann, all nephews of the deceased.
