Clouse, Eva N. #2 (5 OCT 1943)

Miss Eva N. Clouse, daughter of Mrs. Amelia Clouse of Neillsville, became the bride of Henry E. Laffe, son of Mrs. Lousia Laffe of Humbird, in a 7:30 p.m. candlelight service at the Methodist church at Neillsville on Oct. 5. The church was trimmed with autumn leaves and flowers. The Rev. Floyd A. Fahlgren officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Leona Hansen sang two solos, "Because" and "At Dawning," accompanied at the piano by Miss Lydia Goeres, who also played the wedding march and recessional.

The bride was attired in a gown of white net over satin. A tiara of crown pearls on satin held the finger-tip veil, and she carried a bouquet of peach colored Roosevelt roses.

Miss Gertrude Clouse of Fond du Lac, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor and wore a dress of peach net over satin, with a headdress of pastel flowers to match and carried a colonial bouquet. The bridesmaid, miss Hilda Laffe of Madison, a sister of the groom, wore a dress of aqua net over satin, with headdress of pastel flowers and carried a colonial bouquet.

The ring bearer was Donald Schiel of Green Bay, a nephew of the bride, and the flower girls, daughters of the Rev. Obed Asp, wore long peach colored taffeta dress and carried baskets of rosebuds and other pastel flowers.

The groom’s attendants were Sheldon Laffe of Sturgeon Bay, brother of the groom, and Ben Clouse of Loyal, brother of the bride.

A 5 o’clock dinner was served at the Merchants hotel in Neillsville for the immediate relatives of the bride and groom, and a reception was held in the church parlors following the wedding.

Mrs. Laffe has owned and operated Eva’s Fashion Shoppe in Neillsville for the past 10 years. Mr. Laffe is the owner of the Red and White store in Humbird.

For her going away dress, the bride wore a gold jersey dress suit, and she wore luggage brown accessories to match. Mr. and Mrs. Laffe will be at home to their friends in Humbird after Oct. 16.

The Loyal Tribune extends its congratulations to the newlyweds.
