Morgal, Frank (13 JAN 1875 - 9 JUL 1954)

Frank Morgal, son of Anson and Frances (Smolich) Morgal, was born in Yugoslavia on Jan. 13, 1875. He came to the United States in 1869 and settled in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1901 he went to Ely, Minn.

In May 1902 he was united in marriage to Margaret Plutt (spelled Plute in obit) at Ely. He worked in the iron mines until 1908, when the family moved to Albany, Minn., onto a farm. In 1914 they moved to Willard (Clark Co., Wis.) where he cleared and built one of the nicest farms in that community.

Mr. Morgal passed away at his home near Willard on Friday, July 9, 1954. He has been in ill health for the past few years. The body was taken to the Hill Funeral Parlor, where it remained until Monday afternoon, when it was taken to his home near Willard.

A Requiem mass was read at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The Rev. Father Augustine Sveta officiated. Burial was made in Holy Family Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret, four daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Mary) Ehlers, Greenwood; Amelia, Margaret and Amy, Chicago; and one son, Frank Jr., at home; three grandchildren, Alvin Jr. and Billy Ehlers, Greenwood, and Mrs. Stanley (Amy) Olson of Waukesha, and one great grandchild, Theresa Olson.

He was the last survivor of the Morgal family. Three sisters, Mary, Rose and Theresa, and three brothers, John, Joe and Tony preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were: John Pernic, Ludwig Perushek, Joseph Tolaney, Frank Laken, Frank Francel and John Gregorich.
