Plautz, Frances L. (20 MAR 1923 - 1 AUG 1954)

Mrs. George Plautz passed away suddenly from a heart attack at her home on Sunday, Aug. 1, 1954, at about 5:00 a.m.

Frances Lillian Podrovitz, daughter of Thomas and Martha (Jurasovic) Podrovitz was born March 10, 1923 at Tioga (Clark Co., Wis.). She received her education in the schools there and attended high school at Fairchild and vocational school at Eau Claire. From 1943 to 1944 she was employed as a stenographer at the Book and Stationery Co. at Eau Claire.

On Feb. 22, 1945 she entered the Waves, receiving her discharge on May 30, 1946.

On June 29, 1946 she was united in marriage to George Plautz at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. After her marriage they moved to Greenwood. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and of St. Ann's Society.

The body lay in state at the Hill Funeral Home from Tuesday until time of services. A Rosary service was held Tuesday afternoon and again in the evening at 8:00 o'clock.

A Requiem High Mass was read at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 9:30 a.m., with the Rev. Father Edward Hartung officiating. Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery.

The American Legion Post had charge of the military services.

The pallbearers were John Snedic, Stanley Pekol, Florian Herrick, Oliver LaFlex, Floyd Plautz and Amos Boe.

She is survived by her husband, one son, George Jr. of Greenwood; three sisters, Mrs. John (Catherine) Plautz, Greenwood; Mrs. Joe (Marie) Farrell, Milwaukee; Mrs. Leon (Anna) Robertson, Caledonia; two brothers, George Podrovitz, Willard, and Steve Podrovitz, Quanah, Texas, and her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Steinke of Granton.
