Dallman, Marlene Ann (Marriage - 9 Mar. 1957)

Miss Marlene Ann Dallman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Dallman of Colby, and Robert Lee Hautamaki of Owen exchanged marriage vows in the Trinity Lutheran church in Unity Saturday afternoon, Rev. Claude Vander Stoep officiating at the rites. Organ music for the nuptials was rendered by Mrs. Ansel Messer of Unity, Wis. Mrs. Howard Rannow of Colby served as soloist with Miss Barbara Bender of Colby as her accompanist. Their selections were "Because" and "The Lord’s Prayer."

The bride named Miss Sandra Steinwand of Colby as her maid of honor and her bridesmaids were Miss Jean Helsten of Milwaukee and Miss Shirley Hoveland of Minneapolis. The last two, like the bride, are registered nurses.

Nile and dark green ballerina-length dresses of nylon chiffon were worn by the trio. Their rounded necklines with two-tone trimming were slightly draped and accented with long streamers at the back. Their headdresses in matching colors were twin clips of poufs with face veils.

A crescent bouquet of pink garnettes and white pompoms was carried by Miss Steinwand, and the other aides carried crescents of pink carnations and white pompoms.

Pink garnettes and white hyacinths surrounded the white orchid which topped the Bible carried by the bride.

Her gown of embroidered organdy over taffeta featured short gathered sleeves, a Sabrina neckline and a five-tiered skirt extending into a long train. Medallions trimmed with rhinestones edged the neckline back and front, and side clips of seed pearls and irredescent sequins held her pillbox hat of tulle and lace. A finger-tip veil of French illusion and gauntlets to match her dress completed her attire.

Attending Mr. Hautamaki as best man was his cousin, Donald Jacobs of Waukegan, Ill. Otto Becker and Robert Stark of Owen, served as his attendants, and ushering duties were performed by Clayton Wellman of Van Dyne, a cousin of the bride, and Bernard McCray of Owen.

The bride’s mother attended the wedding in a navy blue street-length dress accented with lime accessories and a corsage of pink garnettes and white carnations, and Mrs. Hautamaki was attired in light blue with black accessories. Her corsage was identical to Mrs. Dallman’s.

Wedding guests were entertained at a buffet supper in the church parlors after the ceremony. Among those present were residents of Minneapolis, Wausau, Van Dyne, Owen, Spencer, Medford, Rib Lake, Waukegan, Ill., Milwaukee, Unity, Withee, Thorp, Marshfield, Edgar, Madison, Chicago and Colby, Wis.

The bride is a graduate of Colby High School and of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Marshfield. Mr. Hautamaki was reared by his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Hautamaki of Owen, as their son. The newlyweds will make their home in Rapid City, S.D., where the groom will be stationed with the U.S. Air Force after March 25.
