Stapel, Mr./Mrs. Paul (50th - 6 APR 1947)

Easter Sunday, April 6, 1947, the United Lutheran Ladies Aid honored Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stapel of Greenwood, with a dinner and open house at the church parlors, with about 200 friends and relatives present.

Mr. and Mrs. Stapel were married in Winnebago, Minn., April 6, 1897. Later moving to Wisconsin, twenty years ago they moved to a farm two miles south of Longwood, where they resided until about four years ago, when they moved to their present home west of Greenwood, about ½ mile.

Four of their children being present at the happy event were, Florence (Mrs. Edurn Frickenstein) and family of Stratford, Theodore of Elmhurst, Ill., Robert and family of Marshfield and Charlotte (Mrs. Ralph Miller and family) of Withee. Mildred (Mrs. M. Callum) of Elmhurst, Ill., being absent because of illness, and Justin of Valley Home, Calif., because of distance and business.

Mr. and Mrs. Stapel are proud grandparents of thirteen living grandchildren, they have no great-grandchildren.

At the close of the afternoon’s most pleasant gathering their many friends wished them many more years of happy wedded life.
