Reasby, William (20 APR 1890 - 8 APR 1947)

At two o’clock Saturday afternoon from the Pentecost Church on 64 north of Owen, funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Drew for William Reasby. Mr. Reasby had been in poor health for the past four years but still able to be up and about and do his farm work. However, his weakened condition didn’t permit him to fight off a more serious illness, which he suffered from for two weeks previous to his passing away at his farm home on route 2, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), at 2:20 Tuesday morning, April 8th, 1947.

He was born on April 20, 1890, in Iowa. As a young man he moved to Wisconsin, residing in the southern section of the state until 28 years ago, at which time he settled on a farm near Stanley, where he farmed successfully for 19 years before moving to his present farm nine years ago. In 1925 his first wife, Verbener, preceded him in death. On Aug. 24, 1936, he was united in marriage with Mary Carter at Beloit, Wis., who mourns his passing away, as does a sister and brother and 10 children, including six sons, Lloyd of Medford, Twoson, Clarence, Elden, and Noble of Milwaukee, and Edward at home, and four daughters, Verbener, Helen, Ruth Smith, of Milwaukee, and Naomi, Owen, besides a wide circle of friends he had gained the respect of during the nine years he lived in this community.
