Jenkins, Alton (8 JUL 1908 - 11 MAR 1947)

Private funeral services were held Wednesday, March 12, for Alton H. Jenkins, 38, of route 3, Auburn, Wash., who died suddenly in a Seattle hospital March 11th, 1947, after a brief illness.

Born July 8, 1908, in Preston, Idaho, Mr. Jenkins moved to Wisconsin while a young man and made his home in this state for 15 years before moving to Auburn about 16 months ago.

He is survived by his wife, Esther, two sons, William and James, and three daughters, Patricia, Janet and Sarah Alice, all of Auburn; two brothers, Roy and Walter Jenkins of Preston, Idaho, and his mother, Mrs. Sarah A. Jenkins, also of Preston.

Del B. Price of the Price Funeral Home was in charge of the service. Burial was made in the Kent Cemetery.

Mr. Jenkins will be remembered by residents of this community, as he resided in the Town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.) until 12 months ago, when he moved to Washington. For several years he was employed at the Zelm Cheese Factory at Longwood and farmed on his father-in-law’s farm, the Otto Wetzel place in Longwood.
