Gould, Esther D. (26 JAN 1947)

Miss Esther D. Gould and Forrest E. Roach were united in marriage at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 1947, at the home of the bride’s aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Robert O. Johnson, 1003 West Wall St., Harrisonville, Mo., the Rev. Chas. R. Swofford officiating in a double ring ceremony.

Their attendants were the bride’s sister, Miss Verna Mae Gould and Clifford Yoakum, both of Harrisonville.

The bride wore a medium blue wool suit with black accessories. Miss Gould wore a beige wool suit with brown accessories, and both wore corsages of American beauty roses. The bride’s stepmother, Mrs. Ruth Gould, wore an aqua crepe dress and the groom’s mother, Mrs. E. Roach, wore a navy blue crepe, both wearing corsages of pink carnations.

After the ceremony a luncheon was served to the immediate relatives and friend of the families, the bride and groom cutting their beautiful three-tier wedding cake, presented to them by Mrs. Gould.

Shortly after Mr. and Mrs. Roach left on their honeymoon for Merrillan, Wis., where they visited at the home of the bride’s mother, grandmother and other relatives.

They have returned to Harrisonville, and are both employed at the City Service Station and lunch room on Highway 71. They are at home at 106 Main St., where they have a furnished apartment.

The very best wishes of their many relatives and friends go to this worthy and young couple for their future success and happiness.
