Lyden, Augusta (12 May 1862 - 25 November 1949)

Mrs. Augusta Lyden, 87, of Greenwood, Wisconsin died at the Neillsville hospital on Friday as the result of a fractured hip. On November 19 she fell, fracturing her right leg and was taken to the hospital.

The body lay in state at the Georgas Funeral Home until taken to the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Globe for the last rites on Monday, November 28, 1949. Burial was made in the parish cemetery, the Rev. Adolph Schumann officiating.

Mrs. Lyden was born in Germany May 12, 1862. She received her education in the schools in Germany. In 1887 she was married to Mr. Schultz in Germany. They came to the United States in 1893 and lived on a farm at Jefferson, Wis., for three years. In the fall of 1896 they moved to Clark County and took up a homestead, where she spent the remainder of her life. She has been ill for the past 10 years.

Mr. Schultz died in 1904 in the Town of Weston. In 1905 she was married to Patrick Lyden at Neillsville, who died October 30, 1930. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Globe.

She is survived by three children, Mrs. Frank (Elsie) Stonek of Cudahy, Otto Schultz of the Town of Weston, and Paul Schultz of Owen; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

One daughter and three sons are deceased.
